At Home-Start West Berkshire’s Annual General Meeting yesterday, the charity were pleased to announce a new corporate sponsor. Helix Limited, established in 2016, builds homes of any size, from one off projects for private clients, to larger residential developments for Housing Associations or Local Authorities. Building charitable giving into the heart of the organisation from the start has been a key priority for Director, Nic Davies:

“As a new business we wanted to ensure our core values were clear from day one. This included our belief that every business has an important role to play in community investment. With Home-Start providing fantastic vital support to local families in and around the home, the charity seemed a natural partner for Helix as we continue to build homes for private sale and affordable rent, helping to improve family life in the place that people live and enjoy recreational time”

Home-Start West Berkshire is a voluntary organisation, committed to promoting the welfare of families across the borough. Since 1997, Home-Start has delivered a unique support model by recruiting and training volunteers to help families with young children within the home. In addition to a home-visiting service, it runs three family groups and two postnatal depression support groups. It has a team of 45 volunteers providing free, non-judgmental, practical and emotional support to families experiencing a range of issues. Grace Ryder, Scheme Manager is aware what a difference regular giving can make to an organisation such Home-Start:

“Maintaining the level of funding required to keep pace with the increasing demand for our service is always a challenge. This year is no exception so the security of funding for our AGM, regular fundraising and annual giving from Helix Ltd will be a huge boost to the charity, enabling us to focus on the real work of supporting more families. We really appreciate having Helix Ltd on board to help us with this mission.”
