Family Group
At Home-Start West Berkshire we run three Family groups which are by invitation only. The groups are well supported by our volunteers and a group worker who will ensure you and your little one(s) have a good time with plenty of play and craft activities. These groups are term-time only.

“The children learnt to sit still at a table and have a snack, as well as sitting on the mat for singing. When they finally went to nursery, the nursery thought they had been before because they were so well prepared by the Home-Start group”
Postnatal Peer Support Group
We understand that having a baby is a life-changing experience and sometimes feeling low can affect the experience you have of being a new parent. We run two support groups that can help to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness and help you to understand that these feelings are common and they will pass. These groups are term-time only.

"When I was feeling extremely low, the support of the volunteers and the kindness of the group made me feel as though I wasn't alone anymore. I had people who could understand how I felt and helped me through difficulties I was facing. They went above and beyond and supported me and talked to me about struggles I was having which weren't directly caused by PND as well, which I am extremely grateful for."
Family Learning Group
Coming soon! Our Foundations: School Readiness Project includes a Family Learning Group. The group is by invitation only and supports families with children who need a bit more help getting ready to transition to nursery. They may not be able to dress themselves yet, feed themselves, have toileting skills or clear communication skills. We can help them start their journey to school on the right foot! If you are worried that your child may have a learning difficulty then this group is also suitable for your child. Together, the group learns how they can support good development skills in the play setting and in their own homes. The group is term-time only.
“The speech and language group is fantastic – it was such a great benefit to both myself and my daughter as we came out of lockdown. My co-ordinator was also there for me emotionally when I felt like I needed a chat or some reassurance and encouragement and she gave practical advice about other organisations which could offer help and support.”
