Home-Start West Berkshire were pleased to announce their first Charity Ball earlier this year and finally all the hard work and dedication of two determined trustees came to fruition. The Ball, which was held on 23rd November at Elcot Park was a glitzy evening of fantastic food and fabulous entertainment. The scene was set with Home-Start’s eye-catching colour scheme of orange and purple. The table flowers, kindly donated by Buttercups & Daisies, were strung with illuminated balloons and raised £200 for the charity. The guests were welcomed with prosecco sponsored by Helix Limited, Home-Start West Berkshire’s committed corporate sponsor. The welcome entertainment, provided by Jamie Ledwith on the piano and Chris Head Magic kept everyone entertained until dinner was served. The evening kept a quick, entertaining pace, thanks to the immense skills of the MC, Jason Palmer of Jason Palmer Hairdressing. A live auction and silent auction of some incredible donations raised a whopping £3,300 bringing our overall fundraising total to £10,300. A spectacular evening topped off with the excellent musical skills of Boom Town had everyone on the dance floor.

Home-Start West Berkshire are hugely grateful to everyone who donated cash, goods or services or for auction prizes or entertainment. The money raised will be supporting a new project supporting disadvantaged children in early communication skills to help them to succeed alongside their peers. We would like to thank everyone involved and offer a massive thank you to Claire Carless and Janet Sugden, our dedicated trustees who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event so thank you. Roll on the next one!
